Workshops & Walks

Queens Botanical Garden offers a variety of seasonal, one-time educational and creative workshops throughout the year. Our workshops and walks are led by QBG’s professional and knowledgeable staff and guest artists and guides. Through exploration, nature, conversation, and environmental stewardship, these offerings are a great opportunity for any individual to expand their skills and knowledge!

Watercolor Workshop: Spring Blooms – SOLD OUT

Saturday, April 13, 11am-1pm

$36 Non-Members / $30 Members (Includes Garden Admission)

In this watercolor workshop series, we focus on a different space in the Garden each session. In April, we will learn the basic techniques of painting with watercolors with artist Chemin Hsiao. This class will go out into the garden and use bulb flowers, flowering trees, and other spring blooms as inspiration.

 

 

Macrame Workshop with Rhiannon Platt – SOLD OUT

Saturday, April 13, 2-5pm

$30 Non-Members / $24 Members (Includes Garden Admission)

In this workshop, students will learn to create a classic plant hanger, specialized to fit one of their favorite plants or pots. In class, students will learn the lark’s head, half square, square, and half square spiral knots.

 

 

 

Seasonal Highlights Tour

April 14, May 12, June 9, 11am-12pm

$10 Non-Members / $4 Members

Explore all facets of Queens Botanical Garden on our Seasonal Highlights tours! Join us for one or all the delightful walks through our 39 acres. Each tour of the Garden you’ll get the chance to explore the flora and fauna of the changing season with our knowledgeable staff.

Bird Walks with NYC Audubon

May 5, June 2, 9:30-10:30am

$10 Non-Members / $4 Members

In this special series with NYC Audubon, spot and identify creatures of flight and learn how Queens Botanical Garden provides important resources for birds–like water, shelter, and insects to eat!

  • Tickets are non-refundable, except in the event of a cancellation by the organizer.
  • In the case that an event is cancelled, you will be notified via email and refunded.

  • On-site parking is available year-round during Garden open hours at the Parking Garden, located at 42-80 Crommelin Street, Flushing, NY 11355. For parking fees, please check our website or call 718.886.3800.
