Queens Botanical Garden offers a variety of seasonal, one-time educational and creative workshops throughout the year. Our workshops and walks are led by QBG’s professional and knowledgeable staff and guest artists and guides. Through exploration, nature, conversation, and environmental stewardship, these offerings are a great opportunity for any individual to expand their skills and knowledge!

You Can Garden Too: Fertilizing and Amending Soils

Sunday, June 30, 10am-12pm

$26 Non-Members / $20QBG Members (Includes Garden Admission)

An introductory workshop on fertilizing, amending, and basic soil health. Attendees will learn about summer soil summer and nutrients for heavy feeder vegetables. We will show step by step on how to make compost tea & extracts that will help summer veggies thrive. All materials provided. Recommended for adults.

 

 

 

You Can Garden Too: Pruning and Trellising Your Tomatoes

Sunday, June 30, 1-3pm

$26 Non-Members / $20 QBG Members (Includes Garden Admission)

Attendees will learn about pruning, trellising and how to maximize harvest in small growing spaces. The focus of this session is tomatoes but we will go over other summer crops. Participants can take seedlings to bring home! All materials provided. Recommended for adults.

 

 

 

Seasonal Highlights Tour

Explore all facets of Queens Botanical Garden on our Seasonal Highlights tours! Join us for one or all the delightful walks through our 39 acres. Each tour of the Garden you’ll get the chance to explore the flora and fauna of the changing season with our knowledgeable staff.

Bird Walks with NYC Audubon

June 2 (SOLD OUT), 9:30-10:30am

$10 Non-Members / $4 QBG Members

In this special series with NYC Audubon, spot and identify creatures of flight and learn how Queens Botanical Garden provides important resources for birds–like water, shelter, and insects to eat!

  • Tickets are non-refundable, except in the event of a cancellation by the organizer.
  • In the case that an event is cancelled, you will be notified via email and refunded.

  • On-site parking is available year-round during Garden open hours at the Parking Garden, located at 42-80 Crommelin Street, Flushing, NY 11355. For parking fees, please check our website or call 718.886.3800.
