Tulip Time

🌧 Unfortunately due to the forecasted steady rain, most activities will be canceled. 🌧 We will have tulip and flower inspired crafts from 12 to 4 pm indoors in the Visitor & Administration Building Auditorium. Workshops “Floral Design: Tulips” and “Printmaking: Tulips” are STILL taking place and there are spots available! All other activities, including tours, Music in the Garden, and happy hour are canceled. We hope you stay tuned for future events at the Garden like TWIST & SPROUT! June 9.

Experience spring with a visit to QBG during TULIP TIME! Celebrate spring bulb flowers during the peak of tulip season. See over 16,000 tulips and tens of thousands of daffodils, and take part in the festivities.


11am to 1pm: Floral Design: Tulips
$30-40 (includes Garden admission); registration required; click to purchase tickets
Participants will learn the beauty of designing with tulips and other bulb flowers as they create a spring basket arrangement to take home. All flowers and materials provided.

12 to 4pm: Tulip and Flower inspired crafts
Included with Garden admission; drop-in
Create origami tulip bouquets and your own tulip crown to wear around the garden

12 to 5pm: Face Painting
$5; drop-in

1pm, 2pm, 3pm: Hourly Tulip Tours

Learn about the different varieties of tulips and bulb flowers in our Spring displays with QBG’s resident plant expert Fred Gerber.

2 to 4pm: Printmaking Workshop: Tulips
$20-30; (includes Garden admission); registration required; click to purchase tickets
In this workshop, create tulip patterns and designs and learn the basics of block printing on paper and fabric with Artist Chemin Hsiao. 

3 to 5:30pm: Happy Hour
Cash Bar; drop-in
Enjoy the Music in the Garden concert with our signature Mint Tulip drink, other alcoholic beverages, soda, and snacks will also be available.

4 to 5:30pm: Music in the Garden
Included with Garden admission; drop-in
Enjoy live music on the Terrace by The Ladybugs, featuring dreamy, dulcet tones and trombones playing favorites from the 1920s, ‘30s, and ‘40s, infused with country, blues, Latin, and classical music.

***While the event is free, Garden admission is to be paid at Garden entry. Admission April through October: Adults – $6, Seniors (age 62+) – $4, Students with ID – $4, Children (ages 4 to 12) – $2, Children (3 and under) – FREE, Members – FREE.
