QBG is extending its open hours so you can enjoy twilight at the Garden every Thursday, June 6 through September 12.

Join us once a month for Flower Power Parties taking place on select Summer Nights–Thursdays, June 20, July 18, August 8, and September 12–which will include live music and dance, botanical crafts, food and alcoholic beverages available for purchase, as well as other programming!

*** Garden admission is to be paid at Garden entry. Admission April through October: Adults – $6, Seniors (age 62+) – $4, Students with ID – $4, Children (ages 4 to 12) – $2, Children (3 and under) – FREE, Members – FREE.

Flower Power Party: Lavender

Thursday, June 27, 6 to 8pm
Included with Garden Admission

On Lavender Night, we are celebrating diversity and Pride! Featuring a performance by ¡Retumba!, a multi-cultural all-woman Afro-Caribbean music and dance ensemble, who will get you dancing all evening. Create your own flower crown and other botanical crafts inspired by the Garden’s blooming lavender. This event was rescheduled from June 20 to June 27 due to inclement weather.

Please Note: For the rescheduled event on Thursday, June 27, we will not have food or cash bar. However, you are welcome to bring your own picnic spreads and Flushing offers a wonderful array of foods to enjoy in the Garden.

Flower Power Party: Dahlia

Thursday, July 18, 6 to 8pm
Included with Garden Admission

On Dahlia Night, we are celebrating the culture of Mexico! Featuring a performance by Calpulli Mexican Dance Company. Calpulli presents the rich diversity of Mexican and Mexican-American cultural heritage through dance and live music. Enjoy offerings from food vendors and alcoholic beverages available for purchase. Create your own flower crown (for a fee), or flower print handkerchief (for a fee), and other botanical crafts inspired by the Garden’s blooming dahlias.

Phew! Looks like we will miss the rain for Flower Power Party tonight–but either way, we’ll stay dry as activities will take place under our covered terrace. Come out to enjoy a performance by Calpulli Mexican Dance Company and a cash bar (pair a margarita, wine, and beer with a picnic dinner you bring). Don’t forget our Grown-Up Flowers installation throughout the Garden and our In Full Bloom exhibit in our gallery (included with admission). Also, make your own flower crowns (for a small fee). Weather permitting, artist Pasqualina Azzarello will be live painting our Education Building and create a flower print handkerchief (for a small fee). Admission is only $2-6 and Members and children age 3 and under are always free! Schedule and activities are subject to change.

Flower Power Party: Orchid

Thursday, August 8, 6 to 8pm
Included with Garden Admission

Get a first viewing of the Taiwan: A World of Orchids exhibit featuring over 400 potted orchids. Enjoy a special performance by Samba New York! as they create the musical ambiance of a “pagode”—a backyard samba party featuring ballroom dance and interactive instruction. Enjoy offerings from food vendors and alcoholic beverages available for purchase. Play wooden lawn games and create botanical crafts inspired by the World of Orchids exhibit!

Thursday, September 12, 6 to 8pm

At Flower Power Party: Lotus, we are celebrating the culture of India! Featuring a performance and interactive Bollywood dance workshop by Ajna Dance Company. Enjoy offerings from food vendors and alcoholic beverages available for purchase. Create botanical crafts inspired by all the flowers blooming in the Garden.
