Purchasing, Renewing, and Upgrading Memberships
How can I purchase or renew a membership?
Onsite: Memberships may be purchased on-site at the Main Street Admissions Entrance, Gift Store, and Parking Garden.
Online: You may also purchase a membership online on our website and make an online payment via PayPal or credit card.
By Mail: You may purchase a membership via mail with a check made out to Queens Botanical Garden, indicating your desired membership level. Please include your phone number or email address so we may contact you for additional details
How can I upgrade my membership?
You may upgrade your membership at any time while it is active by paying the difference between the current level and the higher level. Level upgrades do not change the expiration date. Members who wish to upgrade within two months of expiration may also choose to simply renew at the higher level. You can upgrade your existing membership level online, on-site, or by marking the desired upgrade on, and returning your renewal letter that is mailed to you.
How do gift memberships work? / How can I purchase a gift membership for someone else?
Gift memberships may be purchased on-site and online. The recipient can visit QBG as often as they like, for one year. You may choose any membership level as a gift for a recipient and/or named second cardholder. The recipient will also receive a packet of four seasonal QBG postcards! Purchase online as a gift here. You may add a Gift Note with your online gift membership purchase.
When will my membership expire?
Your membership is valid for one year from the end of the month of purchase. You can always email or call to inquire about your expiration date.
Membership Cards and Passes
How can I obtain my membership cards and packet?
New and renewing members may choose to have their membership packet mailed to them or have it available for pickup in the QBG Store. Please notify staff of your choice during your onsite transaction or notate it on the paper or online form.
When can I expect to receive my membership materials?
Members should receive their membership cards and packet within three to four (3 to 4) weeks of purchase. If you have not received your membership materials after four (4) weeks, please contact the Membership Department at [email protected] or 718-886-3800 ext. 250, or notify a Visitor Services staff member while visiting the Garden.
As a Member, can I bring a friend with me to the Garden?
Members are welcome to bring friends with them, but their friends will have to pay for admission. Click here to see our admission fees. Members may also give their friend one of their Member Guest Passes for entry (or encourage them to become a Member, too, so they can also enjoy year-long free admission!).
Can I give my Membership Card to a friend or family member to use to enter to Garden?
No. Memberships are only valid for the named individuals printed on the Membership card. Visitors with Membership Cards are asked to present valid photo ID upon entry. Instead, encourage them to become a Member, too, so they can also enjoy year-long free admission just like you!
Can I give a friend one of my Member passes to enter without me?
Yes, guests may present a member’s guest pass alone, without the member for entry.
How do I replace a lost or stolen membership card?
If you are on-site, please contact a Visitor Services staff member at the Main Gate or QBG Store to fill out a lost membership card form. You may also contact the Membership Department at [email protected] or call 718-886-3800 ext. 250. There is a $5 replacement fee after a second reported loss of your member card.
If I lost my guest admission passes or parking passes, can they be replaced?
No. Guest admission passes, parking passes, and guest parking passes are not replaceable. Please keep passes in a safe place.
Can I use guest admission passes or parking passes after the expiration date?
No. Passes are valid until the expiration date printed on each pass.
How can I update my contact information/personal details?
Please send any mailing address, phone, email address, or other updates to [email protected] or call 718-886-3800 ext. 250. Please send us your old and new information
Who can be included in a Dual or Family Membership?
A Dual or Family membership is defined as and valid for two adults living in the same household with the same address. Family memberships also include all the children under 18 years age in the same household.
I joined at the Dual or Family level and did not provide a second name for a second card. Does that mean I get any one complimentary companion, or “plus one,” every visit without needing to provide a guest pass voucher?
No. Members at the Dual, Dual Senior, Family and above levels receive only one admission ticket per cardholder. These cards are non-transferable. Membership cards cannot list “Guest of [Member]” or such. If you need to add or update your second cardholder name, please contact the Membership Department via email or phone.
Why do I have to show a photo ID when I use my membership card to enter the Gardens?
To prevent misuse of membership cards, we require that one adult cardholder present photo ID upon entering. As a nonprofit organization, we rely on membership dues for much of our support. Membership cards are valid only for the Member(s) listed on the card(s) and may not be loaned or given to anyone else to use. We also want to protect our members should their cards be lost or stolen.
Is my membership tax-deductible?
All membership levels at the Supporting level and lower are 100% tax-deductible. The tax-deductible amount is determined by your contribution minus the fair market value of goods and services received. Please reach out to the Membership Department with any questions via email or phone.
