Virtual Workshops & Tours

Bring the wonders of the Garden to your group or classroom with our digital workshops and tours! Our skilled and enthusiastic instructors guide students of all ages through real-world applications of environmental stewardship as they learn about the water cycle, tour plants in our kitchens, discover the relationship between flowers and pollinators, and so much more. Explore all of our fun and interactive virtual K-12 lessons below!

Virtual Workshops

$75 per school group.
Workshops run approximately 45 minutes.
Maximum of 20-25 students to a group.
Our workshops are adaptable for all ages.

Animal Architecture

Many animals we encounter at the Garden and in our neighborhood are skilled builders. In this workshop, we explore a few examples of animal-made structures, make models of some of them and create a home for native bees using household supplies.

In this workshop we explore the characteristics and functions of insect bodies through model making.

Discover the relationship between pollinators and flowers and the important role pollinators have in our environment.

In this workshop we’ll explore the conditions plants need to survive, how those conditions are met in deserts, and how plants adapted to survive there.

In this workshop we explore the relationships between pollinators and plants using our observation skills.

A world tour of the plants in our kitchens and the stories of their arrival there.

Kitchen Gardening

In this live workshop we’ll explore the plants that are hiding in our kitchens, look for ways to grow some of them, and set up a growing chamber.

Explore the math and patterns behind plant growth and explore how plants make their shapes.

Rainforest Plants

In this workshop we’ll explore the conditions plants need to survive, how those conditions are met in tropical rainforests, and how plants adapted to survive there.

Explore trees, their needs, and the role they play in our lives.

Water Cycle

Where do we get our water and where does it go? An exploration of water sources in our homes and how they fit into the larger world of the water cycle.

Have our staff guide you in creating wonderful thematic takeaways to enhance and remember your program, or order a kit without a workshop just for the fun of it.
