Growing Justice Application: 2025-26 School Year

Thank you for your interest in Queen Botanical Garden’s Growing Justice program!

Growing Justice is a year-long internship for high school students in the Flushing and Corona areas that offers hands on experience exploring food justice and sustainable agriculture. Funding is available through Flushing High business program and John Bowne CTE (this means you must be eligible for the CTE program to receive pay).

In this program, you will:

• Grow and cook food at the QBG farm
• Investigate issues impacting our communities
• Learn from past and present food justice and food sovereignty movements
• Explore our power and impact, and how we can shape our communities
• Build career skills like communication, research, and teamwork
• Build friendships!

Growing Justice will run from October 2025 through June 2026 with the option to extend into the summer.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis through Sunday, October 5th.

Short zoom interviews will be set up in late September and early October.
