It’s our joy to be here for our community…
When I reflect on this year, I am delighted by our staff here at Queens Botanical Garden and all that we have accomplished during the pandemic. As the place where people, plants, and cultures meet, we got creative right away to continue fulfilling our mission. Our team made sure to bring people, plants, and cultures together in new ways at every stage of the year, even in the face of enormous difficulties. I hope that you are also moved by our achievements, and choose to support the Garden with a gift of any size. Now, for a look back…
During our temporary springtime closure, I watched in awe as our brilliant team unleashed the full spectrum of their digital savvy! At a moment’s notice, our whole team pitched in to create videos showing us how to prepare Korean BBQ wraps at home, teaching us about NYC street trees, reading us stories with their kids, sprouting black bean seeds, and more. We even took our Rose Gala online! Check out #qbgathome on social media to follow along.
Of course, the Garden bloomed in all its splendor throughout spring and summer, undeterred by the ongoing pandemic. We committed to reopening as soon as it was safe, to give our community a place to begin healing in nature. And you were eager to return! Nearly every day since reopening, we’ve welcomed hundreds of visitors like you to our 39 acres of space. You’ve come back to breathe in the fresh air, admire the changing colors, practice Tai Chi, learn about plants and insects, spend time with family and friends, and participate in special and safe programming. Read more about everything we’ve accomplished on site since our July 21 reopening on the back cover – I promise, you’ll be amazed!
Even in the face of many financial challenges, we have continued to provide so many resources and services to our community. Queens Botanical Garden has been here for you, and now we ask for your support to help us keep going. I ask that you consider making your gift as generous as possible this year. And COME VISIT! Rest assured you will be greeted with plenty of beauty, space, and safety precautions. And if you’d rather engage with us virtually, we’ll see you online at @queensbotanicalgarden and #qbgathome!
Thank you for your support, and best wishes for 2021.
P.S. Give a gift to Queens Botanical Garden today. Your gift, no matter the size, will make a difference and helps sustain the Garden.
