Winter Family Programs: Plants We Eat!

Saturday, January 12, 2019, 11:00 am to 12:00 pm

$12 per child

Learn all about different plant parts, identify their functions, and discover which of these parts we eat. We’ll visit the Greenhouse to see edible plants and make hummus for dipping veggies as a healthy snack! Please dress for the weather. Recommended for 4 to 10-year-olds, but all are welcome to attend.

Ticket includes one child. Please purchase separate tickets for each child. This is not a drop-off program.

This is part of the Winter Family Programs Saturday series. Sign up for a single session or all four for a discounted package of $40 per child. Bring the whole family and experience winter’s splendor with indoor garden activities and an outdoor nature walk.

Registration required. Click here to purchase tickets.
Drop-ins welcome upon availability.

TIP:
Spend the day at the Garden! From 12 to 1pm on each day of Winter Family Programs, join us for a community art project celebrating Lunar New Year! Drop in to work on collaborative sculptures to celebrate the Year of the Pig. The project will be displayed in the Garden for QBG’s Lunar New Year Celebration on Saturday, February 9 and for the remainder of February. Please note: this family-friendly activity involves papier maché and paint. $12 per child.

Check out QBG’s current Art in the Garden exhibition, “Organic Emergence” at the Visitor & Administration Building Gallery. Free.
