Aggregates, soil texture, the rhizosphere – what on Earth are we talking about? Facts & Field Tests provides a foundation for your soil explorations. Learn how soil scientists describe soils and what qualities are necessary for healthy plants and ecosystems through easy-to-replicate field tests.
This workshop is presented by NYC Compost Project Hosted by Queens Botanical Garden.

– “Hapa-Zome: Flower Prints” takes place the same day from 11am to 1pm. Learn the art of hapa-zome, smashing plant color and shape onto fabric. [$20 Member / $30 Non-Member (includes Garden admission)]
– From June 12 through September 2, take selfies throughout the Garden with “Grown Up Flowers,” larger-than-life, inflatable flowers by PLAYLAB, INC. (Included with Garden admission; Drop-in.)
– Through August 25, go to the Visitor & Administration Building Gallery to see “In Full Bloom,” featuring three artists presenting work inspired by the shape and form of flowers and bodies in nature. (Included with Garden admission; Drop-in.)
