Seed to Soil: A Three-Part Workshop Series (3/27, 4/3, 4/10)

Join the QBG Farm and Compost team on a three-part workshop series: Seed to Soil. This course provides a basic understanding of how to prep your garden bed for the spring and apply that knowledge on the Farm and compost sites at QBG. Throughout this series we will dive into topics including composting, food and garden waste, mulching, and all organic growing techniques.

This course requires participants to attend all three sessions.

Non-Members: $20* / Members: $18. Registration required.
*Includes Garden admission for Day 2 & Day 3 sessions.

Day 1: Sunday, March 27, 1 to 3pm (virtual)
All Things Growing – Understanding condition and methods for growing in the spring.
This virtual lesson will explore the must knows of gardening. Topics include planning for your zone, companion planting, organic growing, cover cropping, and composting.

Day 2: Sunday, April 3, 1 to 3pm (onsite)
Apply Lessons on the Farm
This lesson will be hosted at the QBG Farm site and attendees will be planting in one of the raised garden beds, spreading cover crop, applying compost, and will have the chance to plant and take home a seed tray.

Day 3: Sunday, April 10, 1 to 3pm (onsite)
Garden Waste is Garden Gold
This lesson will be an emphasis on food waste and composting. Attendees will have the chance to tour the compost site and learn a
