DIY Compost Critter Worm Bin Workshop

Sunday, September 25, 1:15 pm to 2:00 pm

Included in Garden Admission

Join the NYC Compost Project Hosted by SNUG Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden for a 45-minute workshop on vermicomposting practices! Learn about red wiggler worms, harvesting finished compost from your worm bin, and all about physical decomposers. Bring your own bin (sizes of bin must be between 6 qt. to 27 gal) and we will help you create an indoor worm bin using red wigglers, browns, greens, and a plastic bin. We will provide the red wiggler to you for free! Get ready to bring home the best pets who help divert scraps from the landfill.

This workshop is part of Compost-Pa-Looza, a day at the Garden aimed to spotlight Queens composting and empower the community to learn, network, and have fun with all things soil health! To learn more about, and register for, Compost-Pa-Looza, visit
