July 16: Mugwort Magic: Soaps & Teas

Many people think of the plant mugwort as weed, however, it has many botanical properties! Instead of throwing our weedy mugwort into the compost bin, join us to learn how to identify, harvest, dry, and repurpose the misunderstood mugwort. In this lesson, attendees will use dried mugwort to make soaps and teas that they can enjoy and bring home.

July 30: Natural Dyeing with Food Scraps

Did you know that the food scraps that you toss into the compost bin can be made into vibrant colors for dying textiles? In this workshop, learn the wonders of natural dying and the techniques and patterns to create a new life for your fabrics. Each attendee will get a canvas bag to dye and bring home. Attendees can also bring their own fabrics to dye (we recommend natural fibers and light-colored fabric).
